Orrin developed much of the original distribution architecture for MDU High-Speed Internet, Structured Wiring, Telecommunications, Distributed Audio, and LAN-based amenities,

These have included HDTV, Security, Energy Management, Security, Distributed Audio/Video, Access Control, and Communications Systems.

He has recently developed MDU Distribution Architecture and Specifications for DirecTV, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse, and for many large MDU Developers.

Orrin has served on ANSI/TIA Telecommunications Standards Committees, and helped to develop TIA-570 Residential Telecommunications Standards. 

He has also served on the CEA Multi-Room AV Standards committee, the VESA Home Network Standards Committee, and the SIA Alarm Home Automation Standards Committee.

In addition, he helped to develop Electronics Systems Technicians Training Manuals for CEA, CEDIA, and BICSI.

Orrin Co-Founded and Chaired the CEDIA Systems Integration Council, and was elected to the CEDIA Board of Directors.  Orrin is a CEDIA-Certified Designer, and he created and taught many of the original CEDIA classes.

He has also conducted training and presented seminars for CES, Broadband Properties Summit, SIA, ISC, EHX, Habitech, HAA, NSCA, and other Trade Shows.

He is a writer and Columnist for Broadband Properties Magazine, and has written for Tech Home Builder Magazine, CEPro Magazine, ArchiTech, Sound and Video Contractor, Custom Builder, Electronic House, Custom Home Electronics, Home Intelligence, Audio/Video Interiors, Circuit Cellar Ink, and Security Distributing and Marketing.

Orrin helped to develop the original Structured Wiring product line for AMP (which later became OnQ/Legrand) and Monster Cable. He has developed many products for MDU applications, and created the Audio Distribution concept used in most structured wiring systems.

Earlier, he designed and manufactured a Patch Bay System for Consumer Audio/Video applications- and won a CES Design Engineering Award at the 1982 CES Show.

Orrin was awarded a U.S. Patent for his Pyramount Speaker Mounting System.

Orrin also designed recording studio mixing consoles and components for Quad-Eight, Audio Concepts, and Quantum Audio Labs.
